Knee Pain Treatment Chicago
Knee pain treatment in Chicago for aching, stiff or unsteady knees that make stairs, runs and long days harder. At True Precision Rehab in River North, Dr. Parth Sharma, DC looks past the knee to the hips, ankles and feet that load it. Care combines hands-on work, adjustments and strength exercise.
When knee pain treatment can help
A knee often hurts because of how the leg is loaded, not only because of the joint itself. People most often come to us with:
-
Pain at the front of the knee on stairs, squats or long sitting
-
Tendon pain below the kneecap in runners and jumpers
-
Pain on the outside of the knee after running or cycling
-
Stiffness and aching in the morning or after a long drive
-
Knee pain that began after a change in training or shoes
-
A knee that feels weak or unsteady with no recent injury
Go to urgent care or the ER first if your knee locked or gave way and will not hold your weight, looks out of shape after a fall or twist, or is red, hot and swollen with a fever.
How knee pain treatment works
The knee is a hinge that depends on the hip above it and the foot below it. If the hip is weak or the ankle is stiff, the knee takes extra load with every step. We test how you squat, step, walk and balance, then look for the weak link. Care frees up tight muscles and stiff joints around the knee, then builds strength so the knee shares the load again. Sore tendons may also be treated with shockwave.
Our knee pain treatment process
-
Assessment first. We check the knee, hip, ankle and low back, and watch how you squat, step and walk.
-
Hands-on care. Soft tissue work, adjustments or dry needling for the areas that are tight or stuck.
-
Tendon care when it fits. Shockwave for stubborn tendon pain that has not settled with rest.
-
Strength and control. A graded exercise plan so the knee, hip and foot share the load.
Strength takes weeks to build, so we pace your exercise to what the knee can handle.

Cost of knee pain treatment in Chicago
We don't post one flat price, because the cost depends on a few things:
-
Whether your knee needs a short series or a longer plan
-
Which tools we use, such as hands-on care, dry needling or shockwave
-
Whether you book single visits or one of our 8- or 12-week programs
-
What your insurance plan covers for the visit
Call (773) 906-4280 and we will give you a clear number before you book.
Knee pain questions
Do I need an MRI before I come in?
No. We start with a hands-on exam and movement tests. If your findings point to something that needs imaging or a specialist, we will tell you and explain why.
Can I keep running or working out?
Usually yes, with changes. We adjust how much and how often you train so the knee can settle while you stay active. You will get clear limits after your exam.
Is the pain really coming from my knee?
Sometimes it is not. Hip, foot and low back problems can overload the knee or send pain to it. That is why we check the whole leg and not just the sore spot.
